Teaching: Future Ready Vision
Future-Ready Vision

WhyTry Units:
Why This Skill Matters
A future-ready vision helps students see beyond immediate challenges and believe that their efforts today can shape a better tomorrow. Without this skill, school and expectations can feel pointless, leading to disengagement or hopelessness. Teaching future-ready vision supports resilience by helping students maintain perspective and purpose through setbacks.
Student Challenges This Skill Helps Address
- Hopelessness about the future
- Lack of motivation
- Avoidance of planning
How WhyTry Builds This Skill
WhyTry develops future-ready vision through the Future Ready Vision & Self-Efficacy unit, where students learn to shift perspective, overcome obstacles, and stay committed to goals. This is reinforced through Motivation & Resilient Mindset, which sustains effort during challenges, and Decision-Making & Consequences, which connects present choices to future outcomes. Facilitators help students see resilience as a long-term investment in themselves.

Future Ready Vision & Self-Efficacy
(“The Wall”)
In Future Ready Vision & Self-Efficacy, students learn how perspective shapes possibility. Facilitators guide students to look beyond current barriers and imagine a future that is influenced by effort, resilience, and choice. Processing helps students reframe obstacles, build belief in their ability to overcome challenges, and understand how resilience is developed through long-term thinking.

Motivation & Resilient Mindset
(“Motivation Formula”)
Motivation & Resilient Mindset reinforces future vision by helping students sustain effort when goals feel distant. Facilitators help students manage discouragement, reframe setbacks, and stay connected to purpose. This processing supports students in maintaining hope and momentum while working toward future goals.

Decision-Making & Consequences
(“Reality Ride”)
In Decision-Making & Consequences, future-ready vision is strengthened as students examine how present choices impact long-term outcomes. Facilitators guide reflection on how daily decisions either build or block future opportunity, reinforcing the connection between resilience, responsibility, and vision.
