Bullying, whether face-to-face or online, can leave lasting emotional scars, create unsafe environments, and severely damage self-esteem. The WhyTry units Positive Self-Image, Emotional Regulation, Peer Influence & Positive Relationships are designed to address this challenge by building core skills such as Self-esteem and self-respect, Social awareness (seeing strengths in others), Empathy, Conflict resolution, Growth mindset, Expanding opportunities by projecting your strengths (self-efficacy), Stress management, Coping strategies, Awareness of emotions in ourselves and others, Self-control under pressure (Impulse control), Mindfulness, Controlling our defense mechanisms, Healthy relationship boundaries, Resisting negative peer pressure, Self-confidence, Communication skills, Leadership in groups, Kindness and friendship. These lessons help students recognize the link between their current choices and long-term outcomes, while equipping them with practical strategies to overcome obstacles.

Positive Self-Image

Positive Self-Image (Labels) helps students address bullying and cyberbullying by developing Self-esteem and self-respect, Social awareness (seeing strengths in others), Empathy, Conflict resolution, Growth mindset, Expanding opportunities by projecting your strengths (self-efficacy). Educators can use this unit’s visuals and activities to translate these competencies into day-to-day behaviors—so students can practice new choices, apply strategies in the moment, and build confidence over time.

Emotional Regulation

Emotional Regulation (Defense Mechanisms) helps students address bullying and cyberbullying by developing Stress management, Coping strategies, Awareness of emotions in ourselves and others, Self-control under pressure (Impulse control), Mindfulness, Controlling our defense mechanisms, Conflict resolution. Educators can use this unit’s visuals and activities to translate these competencies into day-to-day behaviors—so students can practice new choices, apply strategies in the moment, and build confidence over time.

Peer Influence & Positive Relationships

Peer Influence & Positive Relationships (Climbing Out) helps students address bullying and cyberbullying by developing Healthy relationship boundaries, Resisting negative peer pressure, Self-confidence, Communication skills, Leadership in groups, Kindness and friendship, Conflict resolution. Educators can use this unit’s visuals and activities to translate these competencies into day-to-day behaviors—so students can practice new choices, apply strategies in the moment, and build confidence over time.
